It was a melancholy moment for a certain family in Kirinyaga county after their son was allegedly lynched by the Nyumba Kumi officials.

The villainous event started when one of the Nyumba Kumi initiative saw someone in a nearby farm harvesting Macadamia nuts in large quantities and alarmed the neighbors that there is a Macadamia
thief.

They organized themselves and accosted the boy while he was still on the macadamia tree and with no introductions or hesitation, they started giving him some lifetime beatings.

According to the eyewitness, the boy made some futile trials to explain himself but no one paid attention to what he was uttering.

The fracas attracted neighbors attention including the boy's family members who tried to plea with the loathsome officials for his life but they were all pushed back.

The official also instigated to burn him alive as his family was forced to watch their son perishing.

When the 17-year-old boy drew his last breath it was revealed that he was hired by the farm owner to harvest for him the macadamia and he was not a thief.

The body is now in the morgue awaiting to undergo an autopsy as the family has requested the government to ensure justice prevails for their innocent kin.
