The high court justice Teresia Matheka has declared that bearing a child and carrying a pregnancy is a full-time job that should be payable.
She offered an in-depth explanation while presiding over a matrimonial property dispute case.
Justice Teresia stated that it is unjust how courts rules that housewives contributed nothing to the family's financial progress.
According to the judge being a housewife or carrying pregnancy now is a full-time payable job akin to surrogate mothers who are contracted to bear children.
The Judge also insinuated that it's a retarded mindset of the society that one has to contribute money in the relationship to find value
"It's easy for the spouse working away from home and sending money to lay claim to the whole property purchased and development with that money by the spouse staying at home and taking care of the children and the family. The spouse will be heard saying that the other one was not employed so they contributed nothing. Raising children is a full-time job that families pay a person to do. Therefore, a woman in employment who has to balance childbearing and rearing this contribution must be considered" Justice Teresia stated
